Menopause in the workplace

Tammy Menopause in the workplace

How I can support your team with nutrition & lifestyle medicine expertise.

Following 10 years in the corporate wellness industry, I qualified as a Nutritionist in Feb 2019 and specialised in women's health particularly hormone balance and menopause.

I am registered with The British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) and work within The Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) guidelines, I am insured to practice and advise.

Personal experience

I began peri-menopause at the age of 37 and was left to feel completely unsupported by health professionals who tried to convince me I was too young.  10 years on, I have managed my own symptoms with nutrition and lifestyle.  I offer an authentic voice for women experiencing peri-menopause and menopause symptoms.

Prior to qualifying as a Nutritionist, I have decades of experience working within corporate environments.  I am able to combine my corporate experience of working with HR, operations and leadership teams, alongside my nutrition knowledge, to create menopause training sessions, policy and guide documents whilst offering advice and recommendations for wellbeing support in the workplace.

Showing that you care about your team includes supporting their health and wellbeing, menopause support reaches wider than duty of care and responsibility.

Supporting menopause in the workplace provides the environment for all women to reach their career goals.

Workplace menopause support also contributes to:

-improved employee retention

-reduced recruitment costs

-reduced loss of talent and expertise

-improved employee engagement

-increased diversity across gender and age

-increased inclusivity

Support outside of the workplace may be limited

It is essential to capture symptoms early and seek support to continue to thrive through menopause.

Symptoms of perimenopause may affect women 10-12 years before officially entering menopause.

Allowing everyone in the business to access menopause information also provides understanding for people offering support outside of the workplace.

Café-style menopause sessions

These sessions encourage sharing of experiences which provides a sense of community and inclusivity whilst providing valuable information and signposting to available support.

I spend time familiarising myself with any existing support your business offers i.e. EAP or wellbeing providers, to integrate these into the presentations.

Menopause policy and guide support

I provide support and recommendations for the development of menopause policy and guides.

  • Audit of current menopause support and how this could be promoted

  • Competitor review of menopause support and any relevant recommendations

  • Support development of a menopause policy that fits your business

  • Draft and review a menopause guide to bring the policy to life

  • Development of employee survey to contribute to menopause policy

  • Employee consultation group sessions for menopause policy review
